Welcome to the Hope
Street Markets Website!

Welcome to the Hope Street Markets Website! We are a design and art markets event held seasonally, that celebrate and bring independent designers to the forefront - we are not your average markets!

4th June 2008 - Web update

We have successfully rounded up our 4th Hope Street Markets. The Autumn Markets weekend in May was a complete success and we raised $2,741 for HopeStreet's Winter Appeal - which goes to support Sydney's Homeless.

For those that missed out, see our gallery for images of the markets.

For now we wish you all a great Winter, unfortunately we will not be running a Winter market this year but you can expect to hear more news from us in a couple of months with any new dates.

In the mean time keep connected with us via our mailing list.

What do you make? Tell us about your product!

We make art and craft products of a dark and unusual nature. Hand designed curios books, morbid t-shirts, halloween necklaces and hair accessories, feathered hair pieces and accessories of the past, voodoo dolls and strange artwork.

What's your creative background, your day job and how did you start making things?

We have both been doing art since we popped into this world - and beyond! Day job is just a means for financing these creative endeavors.

What are the things you find most inspiring?

Horror, victoriana, curiousities, entomology, halloween, burlesque, vampires, circus sideshows, occult, anything dark and bizarre!

Where is your workspace and what is it like?

We have a studio at home - it is very cramped as I love to collect odd bits and pieces!

Why did you choose Hope Street Markets?

I have known of it for a while and like it's emphasis on design. A lot of markets focus more on second hand items or cheap crap, so it's great to have a space celebrating art.

Where would you like your art/brand to be in the future??

Everywhere infecting everyone!

Where can we buy your stuff?

Currently at Newtown markets, last Saturday of the month. Also retailing at Cabinet of Curiousities Enmore, Modern Times bookstore Newtown, Raven Canberra and Pretty and Twisted  Campbelltown
