Welcome to the Hope
Street Markets Website!

Welcome to the Hope Street Markets Website! We are a design and art markets event held seasonally, that celebrate and bring independent designers to the forefront - we are not your average markets!

4th June 2008 - Web update

We have successfully rounded up our 4th Hope Street Markets. The Autumn Markets weekend in May was a complete success and we raised $2,741 for HopeStreet's Winter Appeal - which goes to support Sydney's Homeless.

For those that missed out, see our gallery for images of the markets.

For now we wish you all a great Winter, unfortunately we will not be running a Winter market this year but you can expect to hear more news from us in a couple of months with any new dates.

In the mean time keep connected with us via our mailing list.

What do you make? Tell us about your product!

We made fabric goods such as hand bags, tote bags, pouches, purses and other housewares. We also make hand print fabrics and paper goods.

What's your creative background, your day job and how did you start making things?

Suki and Helen are self-taught crafters and designers. We learnt craft and designs from books, blogs and other creative websites. Helen is a full time designers. Suki works full time at a solicitors in the day time but she always manage to find herself some spare time to make things during day and night. Suki has her own brand Tamptation but after entering the full time work force, she found it's hard to spend as much time as before to make her own bags so she and Helen decided to work together and create a new brand Double H (Suki's nickname HE HE).

What are the things you find most inspiring?

Helen and Suki found each others' work inspiring! haha! Well, we got inspiration everywhere from creative blogs and website to everyday life. But we have to say, Hope Street's website is very inspiring too!

Where is your workspace and what is it like?

We both work at home and it is of course, a mess...

Why did you choose Hope Street Markets?

Suki had a stall with Tamptation at Hope Street Summer Markets and she found that was the best experience she has ever had. Unlike the other markets, Hope Street Market is a local designers focused market. It allows designers have the ulimate interactions with customers and other designers. Most of the customers who came to the market appreciated handmade designs.

Where would you like your art/brand to be in the future??
