Welcome to the Hope
Street Markets Website!

Welcome to the Hope Street Markets Website! We are a design and art markets event held seasonally, that celebrate and bring independent designers to the forefront - we are not your average markets!

4th June 2008 - Web update

We have successfully rounded up our 4th Hope Street Markets. The Autumn Markets weekend in May was a complete success and we raised $2,741 for HopeStreet's Winter Appeal - which goes to support Sydney's Homeless.

For those that missed out, see our gallery for images of the markets.

For now we wish you all a great Winter, unfortunately we will not be running a Winter market this year but you can expect to hear more news from us in a couple of months with any new dates.

In the mean time keep connected with us via our mailing list.

What do you make? Tell us about your product!

Forbidden Linen is inspired by the stories and legends that encompass the handkerchief or 'pleuvoir' [meaning to rain tears in French]. Made from beautiful fabrics and adorned by sensual images,Forbidden Linen hopes to bring a little romance into your life. Long live the hankie and textile titillation!

What's your creative background, your day job and how did you start making things?

The duo¹s creative background encompasses theatre, design, retail and love.
The artist uNCut has been in design & retail for over 25 years in the UK, and Louise¹s background is in TV and production. Together they work on non-conventional ideas for consumers who want to be discovered and buy into something that epitomises their cheeky side.

What are the things you find most inspiring?

Shape | form | life | love | moments | beautiful chaos.

Where is your workspace and what is it like?

The work space is very unique. We operation in cyber space.

Why did you choose Hope Street Markets?

Louise was looking for an outlet to debut the brand and came across the markets online. They looked super creative and sophisticated, so she signed up and voila!

Where would you like your art/brand to be in the future?

We want to launch it to those who want something different, something Œme¹. Forbidden Linen is for the Œpamper me¹ generation, who aren¹t afraid to indulge.

Where can we buy your stuff?
