Welcome to the Hope Street Markets Website! We are a design and art markets event held seasonally, that celebrate and bring independent designers to the forefront - we are not your average markets!
We have successfully rounded up our 4th Hope Street Markets.
The Autumn Markets weekend in May was a complete success and we raised
$2,741 for HopeStreet's Winter Appeal - which goes to support Sydney's Homeless.
For those that missed out, see our gallery for images of the markets.
For now we wish you all a great Winter, unfortunately we will not be
running a Winter market this year but you can expect to hear more news from
us in a couple of months with any new dates.
In the mean time keep connected with us via our mailing list.

I have created my own range of accessories that lets you wear your favourite treat. I’ve hand-made each piece from either real lollies or objects that have been taken out of their natural context- giving the bears, beans and jellies a little world of their own as they become permanent wearables.
After graduating from The College of Fine Arts UNSW in 2005 in painting and drawing, I'm currently doing a full-time Jewellery and Object design course at the Enmore Design Centre. In between - I started experimenting with different types of lollies and objects and my colourful collection began. I work one day at a toyshop just to reinforce the kid in me!
By using recognizable, childhood candy I hope to evoke a nostalgic feeling within the wearer. I'm inspired by the memory of lollies making things ''better'' as a kid and through making these lolly wearables permanent - I hope to preserve that link to these happy memories. I’m also inspired by the hand-made as well as objects that ooze character and personality through their colour, shape and size.
I have little areas around my house that I use for different products. Sewing my felt doughnuts usually happens on the couch with a lap full of beads (which become the doughnut’s sprinkles.) The lolly lacquering production happens on an old desk which I try to keep tidy and ordered. Pencil brooches and hair clips are created on the carpet. (Don’t tell my mum)
I visited Hope Street Markets a few months ago and absolutely loved the space and the feeling it had- jammed packed with creative people and their original creations.
I would love it to be in a permanent space for young designers- not only to be purchased but also to be exhibited as each piece is an individually hand-made piece of art.
