Welcome to the Hope
Street Markets Website!

Welcome to the Hope Street Markets Website! We are a design and art markets event held seasonally, that celebrate and bring independent designers to the forefront - we are not your average markets!

4th June 2008 - Web update

We have successfully rounded up our 4th Hope Street Markets. The Autumn Markets weekend in May was a complete success and we raised $2,741 for HopeStreet's Winter Appeal - which goes to support Sydney's Homeless.

For those that missed out, see our gallery for images of the markets.

For now we wish you all a great Winter, unfortunately we will not be running a Winter market this year but you can expect to hear more news from us in a couple of months with any new dates.

In the mean time keep connected with us via our mailing list.

What do you make? Tell us about your product!

I love making contemporary jewellery using precious metals, gemstones and textiles such as silk thread and felt. I have a fascination for patterns, prints and textile techniques and incorporate these into my jewellery.

What's your creative background, your day job and how did you start making things?

I was always a maker but I thought when I left school, I would become a graphic designer. Somehow I found my way into jewellery. I completed a Diploma in Jewellery and Object Design at TAFE NSW and make jewellery part time. I also teach part time.

What are the things you find most inspiring?

I find nature, textiles, patterns and architecture very inspiring.

Where is your workspace and what is it like?

I rent a studio space in Bondi Junction. I have the luxury of having three small rooms to myself. One is my workshop, one is my office and one is my client meeting room. Therefore I only have to keep my client room tidy!

Why did you choose Hope Street Markets?

Hope Street Markets has such a wonderful foundation in its philosophy of raising money for a charity. It brings together like minded people who are interested in design, the hand made, young, fresh and quirky products.

Where would you like your art/brand to be in the future??

I would like to be continuing to make, to exhibit and have a stronger presence in the Australian market.

Where can we buy your stuff?
