Welcome to the Hope
Street Markets Website!

Welcome to the Hope Street Markets Website! We are a design and art markets event held seasonally, that celebrate and bring independent designers to the forefront - we are not your average markets!

4th June 2008 - Web update

We have successfully rounded up our 4th Hope Street Markets. The Autumn Markets weekend in May was a complete success and we raised $2,741 for HopeStreet's Winter Appeal - which goes to support Sydney's Homeless.

For those that missed out, see our gallery for images of the markets.

For now we wish you all a great Winter, unfortunately we will not be running a Winter market this year but you can expect to hear more news from us in a couple of months with any new dates.

In the mean time keep connected with us via our mailing list.

What do you make? Tell us about your product!

I create graphic pieces on many different surfaces, celebrating and exploring the world of graphic design and it's progression over the past  30 or so years.

What's your creative background, your day job and how did you start making things?

I studied Graphic Design and fine Art Photography at uni and started pottering around with fabric and paint then. As I moved from one job tho the next and my career progressed so did my range of experimentation with what I made outside of work. I now work as a Print Graphic Designer and Art Coordinator for Estée Lauder companies.

What are the things you find most inspiring?

Fonts, traditional graphic design and printing techniques, people and their relationships and thoughts, along with everything handmade.

Where is your workspace and what is it like?

My new work space is in the garage of my house which looks like it used to be stables in the olden days.. Metal benches and piles of letraset along with many screens, and paint, you can't forget the paint!

Why did you choose Hope Street Markets?

I could tell that Hope Street was focused on not only show casing but supporting creatives of all genres. This was shown in how much hard work PR wise was done to ensure that all the designers, artists and performers gained maximum exposure.

Where would you like your art/brand to be in the future?

I'd love a permanent gallery space! New York would be great but maybe I'll start with Sydney and Melbourne.

Where can we buy your stuff?

Website under construction, no fixed gallery at the moment.
