Welcome to the Hope Street Markets Website! We are a design and art markets event held seasonally, that celebrate and bring independent designers to the forefront - we are not your average markets!
4th June 2008 - Web update
We have successfully rounded up our 4th Hope Street Markets.
The Autumn Markets weekend in May was a complete success and we raised
$2,741 for HopeStreet's Winter Appeal - which goes to support Sydney's Homeless.
For those that missed out, see our gallery for images of the markets.
For now we wish you all a great Winter, unfortunately we will not be
running a Winter market this year but you can expect to hear more news from
us in a couple of months with any new dates.

What do you make? Tell us about your product!
I create unique hand-made plush toys called Skurvyz and Splodgez. Each toy is unique as I create each free hand and don't use a pattern. My Skurvyz and Splodgez are created out of fabric off cuts, 2nd hand clothing and fabric from op-shops
What's your creative background, your day job and how did you start making things?
I have been drawing since I have been old enough to hold a pencil and making things almost as long. I have been making my Skurvy and Splodge friends for the last two years
What are the things you find most inspiring?
The things that I find most inspiring as the cartoon characters and toys that filled my world as a child and now as an adult
Where is your workspace and what is it like?
My workspace is an eclectic mix of Fabric, toys, clothing, art, photos, pictures, sewing machines millions of pieces of string and not to mention mess!
Why did you choose Hope Street Markets?
I chose Hope Street Markets to be surrounded by fellow designers and get vital feed-back and I think my Skurvyz and Splodgez would fit in perfectly at the markets
Where would you like your art/brand to be in the future??
I would like to expand my brand larger to incorporate more toy designs, bags, clothing and stationary.
