Welcome to the Hope Street Markets Website! We are a design and art markets event held seasonally, that celebrate and bring independent designers to the forefront - we are not your average markets!
We have successfully rounded up our 4th Hope Street Markets.
The Autumn Markets weekend in May was a complete success and we raised
$2,741 for HopeStreet's Winter Appeal - which goes to support Sydney's Homeless.
For those that missed out, see our gallery for images of the markets.
For now we wish you all a great Winter, unfortunately we will not be
running a Winter market this year but you can expect to hear more news from
us in a couple of months with any new dates.
In the mean time keep connected with us via our mailing list.

I make an assortment of things, everything from small books and zines, to badges, stickers, magnets, postcards, bookplates, stationery items made from old papers, and even brooches and pendants made from vintage Scrabble tiles. Everything I create results from mixing old and new; digital and handmade; and a combination of graphic design, illustration, photography and an appreciation of the urban environment.
I am a Sydney-based graphic designer by profession, with a background in architecture, fine art, visual merchandising, photography, papercrafts, and bookbinding. I started my career as an architect, but slowly evolved over into graphic design, which is where I developed the skills that enabled me to design and create my current range of products.
I garner a lot of inspiration from vintage things: old books, games, signage, containers and random collectables. Subsequently, I am thoroughly addicted to eBay, op shops, flea markets and antique/collectables fairs.
I work from home, having converted the master bedroom into my studio space. My workspace is spread across two desks, two computers, four walls, the entire bedroom floor, and occasionally incorporates the dining table and lounge room too.
HSM offers the perfect mix of design, art and craft. Also, it is of a small enough scale to be friendly with a genuine ‘creative community’ vibe, whilst still being a highly professional and well-publicised event.
My ongoing goal for Shelbyville is to keep developing new products and evolving the existing range, based on the response and feedback I receive from markets such as the HSM.
Shelbyville has online shop fronts on both Made It and Etsy. Shelbyville products are also stocked in stores such as Craft Queensland (Brisbane), Behind the Monkey (Perth), and High Tea With Mrs Woo (Newcastle).
