Welcome to the Hope Street Markets Website! We are a design and art markets event held seasonally, that celebrate and bring independent designers to the forefront - we are not your average markets!
4th June 2008 - Web update
We have successfully rounded up our 4th Hope Street Markets.
The Autumn Markets weekend in May was a complete success and we raised
$2,741 for HopeStreet's Winter Appeal - which goes to support Sydney's Homeless.
For those that missed out, see our gallery for images of the markets.
For now we wish you all a great Winter, unfortunately we will not be
running a Winter market this year but you can expect to hear more news from
us in a couple of months with any new dates.

What do you make? Tell us about your product!
Witty, cheeky, pretty and excellent badges. Made from paper, metal, shiny plastic and my imagination.
What's your creative background, your day job and how did you start making things?
Just started making things out of lack of funds and needing a creative outlet whilst studying design, and waa-laa! One day stitch badges emerged...
What are the things you find most inspiring?
People's silly sayings, playing Wii, crazy bass players, illustrations, girls wearing stockings whilst riding bikes, trash magazines, architecture, people who paint inside jars, vintage sportswear, art shows, cheap dinners, dancing, singing grocers, insane dance moves, old stripes, poking, hanging the laundry out, wind-up toys, plastic cameras and reminiscing my childhood.
Where is your workspace and what is it like?
My magical desk is my workspace. It transforms itself all the time. From desk, to coffee table, to drawing area, to badge making factory.
Why did you choose Hope Street Markets?
Because it's always so much fun... and the money's going to a great cause! Not to mention the nachos afterwards are always tasty.
