Welcome to the Hope Street Markets Website! We are a design and art markets event held seasonally, that celebrate and bring independent designers to the forefront - we are not your average markets!
4th June 2008 - Web update
We have successfully rounded up our 4th Hope Street Markets.
The Autumn Markets weekend in May was a complete success and we raised
$2,741 for HopeStreet's Winter Appeal - which goes to support Sydney's Homeless.
For those that missed out, see our gallery for images of the markets.
For now we wish you all a great Winter, unfortunately we will not be
running a Winter market this year but you can expect to hear more news from
us in a couple of months with any new dates.

What do you make? Tell us about your product!
Hand made acrylic lightboxes. Boxes are faced with digital prints that illuminate. I have taken photographs of walls around Newtown/Enmore area, focusing primarily on surface texture, paint/grafitti, and erosion from the elements.
What's your creative background, your day job and how did you start making things?
I work for a sign company. Most of the lightboxes we do have corporate artwork (boring) I wanted to make something a little different. I thought about adding a little bit of colour/texture to lights.... something practical but also pleasing to look at.
What are the things you find most inspiring?
Natural textures (timber,metal, stone,brick etc) and the way they interact with the environment, grafitti, streetart, colour.
Where is your workspace and what is it like?
After hours at work....it’s good cause I have access to machinery and tools that I don’t have at home.
Why did you choose Hope Street Markets?
Creative individuals selling unique products, great place to meet others artists and be inspired.
Where would you like your art/brand to be in the future?
Tailored made lightboxes/lighting to suit creative clients/individuals. Interior design/decorating.
